Just checking in

I've been quiet for a bit as things are difficult with the day job right now. But I'm still doing things in the background!

I've made a start on Christmas things, making some decorations for my tree and if they turn out well I will put them in my shop.  So far I've made a christmas pudding and a robin, I'm also thinking of doing a christmas tree, snowflakes and a stocking garland.

In other exciting news I made my first sale on Etsy. Wierdly I sold a thing that I really didn't think would sell. But it was still exciting to package it all up and post it. I hope its new owner loves it.

I've been thinking about packaging too and reading other people's blogs about it. I found a couple of really good sites that sell boxes, including one that sells boxes specially designed to fit into the large letter category.

June Bugs daily listing group and a serious bootfair haul

I listed my first item in the daily listing group on Folksy. Here they are:

I went a bit mad and also added them to the June Bugs Flickr group and CraftJuice. Now I'm worn out!

On Sunday I went to the giant Nuthill Fruit Farm Boot Fair (on the A3 just outside Guildford). I got a whole load of wool jumpers, some of which have been felted:
and some which are waiting to be felted:

and the prize of the day was a stall selling fabric sample books. Look at all the gorgeous pieces of fabric! I especially like the one with all the spots, but I got a lot of plain ones as I though they would be useful.

Folksy Daily Listing Challenge

I've decided to try the Folksy daily listing challenge for June. That means I have to try to make and list 30 new items in a month!

I'm quite slow at the actual making part, but I've got a few ideas so I hope I'll manage a respectable number of new items, if not the whole 30. I'm thinking of branching out from felt and trying some different materials, and maybe some ACEO's. I used to love making those for my (sadly missed) mail art site Nervousness.

Right time to roll up my sleeves, get the pencils out and work out some plans!

Whoo!

I've managed to add a link to my folksy shop (don't laugh I'm technically challenged :P).

Some lovely people have included some of my things on their blogs:

New Badge

Yesterday I made a new badge. I went to a quiz night at my scout group and my team were the Funky Ginger Ninjas (crossed out as we didn't actually have any gingers on the team). So I made this to wear:

Felt things!

Lately I've been sewing little things out of felt. It's a lovely material to work with, especially for me as I am not good at seams and such like, but I can make all sorts of shapes and sew them quite happily without worrying about fraying or putting the wrong sides together!

Here's what I made yesterday

I've also ordered a felting needle and some wool tops as I want to try needle felting. I'd like to make little black cats, but I may be being a bit ambitious as I've never tried needle felting before.
